Hi! My name is Hudson Kalmans. I do pure math and design proteins. I was born and raised in Austin, Texas, but I moved to Seattle, Washington, for college.
Most of my hobbies are intractably nerdy, so I try not to share them too liberally. I have a 600-day Sudoku streak I need to catch up on, and I'm a big fan of woodcut puzzles.
I am a big fan of studying the founding, curation, and culture of the frontier.
Algorithms are awesome. They tend to get a bad wrap because they take over people's lives and fill them with garbage, but they do not have to. Here are some pieces of media that I found through algorithms and why I think they're interesting. I've loosely devised a color scheme where purple generally relates to culture, orange to music, blue to technical projects, and green to comedy and satire.
